Who we are

Cavil Consult is a branding, web, app development and digital marketing agency registered in Nigeria and the United States. We are the data controller for personal data collected through cavilconsult.com. You can contact us about privacy at info@cavilconsult.com.

What we collect

• Information you send us. When you fill in our enquiry form, email or message us, we receive your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number if you give it, your organisation, budget, any files you attach and anything else you choose to share about your project. Enquiries sent through the form are stored securely in our website’s admin area and emailed to our team.
• Website analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics collects information about how you use the site, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser. If you decline, analytics cookies are not set.
• Security and technical data. Our hosting and security services process your IP address and browser details to keep the site running and protect it from spam and attacks.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To reply to your enquiry and prepare proposals or quotes, based on the steps you ask us to take before entering a contract.
• To deliver the services we agree with you, based on our contract with you.
• To understand how the website is used and improve it, based on your consent to analytics cookies.
• To keep the website secure, based on our legitimate interest in protecting our systems and visitors.
• To meet legal, tax and accounting duties, where the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal data, and we only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them. You can opt out at any time.

Essential cookies keep the website secure and working. Analytics cookies from Google Analytics are only set if you choose “Accept analytics” in our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.

Who we share it with

We share personal data only with service providers that help us run our business and website, such as our website host, email provider, Google (for analytics and security) and Automattic (for Jetpack security services). They may only use it to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

International transfers

Because we operate in Nigeria and the United States and use international service providers, your data may be processed outside the country where you live. When this happens we take steps to make sure it stays protected, as required by the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable laws.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails and messages for as long as needed to respond and follow up, and client records for as long as required for our contract and legal obligations. Google Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our Analytics account, after which it is deleted.

Your rights

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and other data protection laws, you can ask to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. To make a request, email info@cavilconsult.com. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or the data protection authority where you live.

Security

We use secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and security monitoring to protect personal data. No online service can be completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information by email unless it is necessary.

Children

This website is intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
